We involve our staff in every step of the process, recognising and developing their training and specific skills, which are nurtured and safeguarded within the company. Cinelli, masters since 1964
We have more than fifty years of experience, having started an adventure by establishing a recognised leadership position in the down processing sector and in the field of down and duvet products. From the very beginning, our pursuit of quality, softness, lightness and comfort has been reflected in our finished products: initially cushions, seats and backrests for the living room furniture industry, and later semi-finished and finished products for clothing, as well as our bedding line, which includes quilts, duvets and pillows.
In keeping with the spirit of our founder, Silvano Cinelli, we have always been driven by the desire to find new well-being solutions, which is why we have never shied away from experimentation — often resulting in successful business ventures.
In the 1970s, for instance, we started manufacturing technical down clothing, which was even tested by the first Italian expedition to Antarctica — the coldest place on Earth, where temperatures can plummet to -40°C or even -60°C! Silvano Cinelli was a key figure in the development of Italian sports outerwear. He started out manually processing down and went on to play a prominent role in the national narrative, as well as in the community of Buggiano, his hometown.
Ciesse Piumini, his first brand, produced iconic products that became symbols of an era, featuring in films such as Vacanze di Natale and dressing motorcycle adventurers such as Beppe Gualini, as well as VIPs like Carolina of Monaco and Stefano Casiraghi.
